GPTs or AI Agents?
Creating our own GPT
This week, let’s create our own GPT,
or assistant,
or proto-agent,
or whatever.
Wowowo! WTF is this?
What are GPTs, or agents?
And as always, at the bottom, you have a selection of the news of the week to stay updated and spark your curiosity, as well as cool tools and lessons that can enhance your life. This week is heavy!
If you like these insights and information, consider forwarding it to a friend!
That’s damn right!
ChatGPT is a chatbot for general purposes made by the company OpenAI.
GPTs are an option inside ChatGPT to create a chatbot with a more specific (role), trained and fine-tuned in specific data and goals (memory), that has the ability to take actions.
By the way, as at right now, this is only available for ChatGPT Plus or enterprise users.
Fine-tuning or Embedding?
What fine tuning is good at is making sure the large language model behaves in a certain way. For example, if you want your GPT to talk like Trump.
On the other hand, fine-tuning is not good at providing very accurate data. Instead, you should use embedding to create a knowledge base so that someone can ask which stock has the highest price movement.
Are GPTs AI agents?
Let’s clarify some definitions first:
GPTs are a first step to becoming fully AI agents (the fancy way to call an intelligent assistant).
GPTs in ChatGPT are a subset of AI agents specialized in processing and generating natural language.
GPT Agents: A GPT "agent" specifically refers to an AI agent that uses the Generative Pre-trained Transformer (GPT) technology.
So creating a GPT would be creating my agent? It is a first step.
GPTs are the beginning of the natural evolution of these AI systems or entities (normal chatbots like ChatGPT). On top of general-purpose LLMs or chatbots, we are going to add more capabilities that approach the concept of agents.
"AI agents" and "AI assistants" are broad categories that encompass a wide range of intelligent systems that can use different technologies, including but not limited to GPT.
While both GPTs and AI Assistants can be used to create a custom ChatGPT, the core difference is that anyone can use GPTs, unlike AI Assistants, which require programming knowledge.
What do I do with this information?
The idea here is that we can create a GPT to solve a (our) specific problem. Check out this video, where you’ll find 2 easy examples on how I solve my problems ;)
Mindset
My mindset about all this craziness is: Stay imaginative and think outside the box.
The important thing here is to start thinking about potential possibilities to solve your problems and make your life easier.
And, start doing it now. I don’t want to be the last one implementing these tools into our lives.
No, Sir!
In the next few weeks, I'll be experimenting with automation, the next step in understanding the concept of agents or assistants as an important part of the chain.
So, stay tuned!
